Sidewalk work begins tomorrow in front of Olin Residence Hall
Starting tomorrow, contractors will begin working on sidewalk replacements that were put on hold due to cold temperatures last year. The first section will be in front of Olin Residence Hall and will take approximately 2 weeks depending on the weather.
From there, they will move to McKinley Avenue, then Children’s Place and finally finishing on Taylor Avenue. As the work progresses, we will send out detailed updated notices of closures.
Ameren to close Clayton Avenue west of Plaza Garage entrance (revised)
Sent on behalf of Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Revisions in red.

Ameren will begin building a power substation on the far southeast end of Hudlin Park to replace the decades-old substation supporting the south end of the medical campus. The project will continue through the end of 2019.

Extensive underground work will require Ameren to close sections of Clayton Ave. west of Euclid starting April 8. See the map for more information. Work includes the following:

West of the team member entrance to the Plaza (south) garage, Clayton Ave. will close to through traffic for approximately four weeks during the relocation of a sewer line.
East of the garage entrance to Euclid, Clayton Ave. will close to through traffic for approximately four weeks. This section of road will close only after the area west of the garage entrance reopens.
The garage entrance/exit will be accessible at all times, and the sidewalk on the south side of Clayton Ave. will remain open. Ameren has installed message boards along Clayton Ave. east of Euclid and in Forest Park alerting drivers of the upcoming closure and will post detours prior to the closure.
BJC planning, design and construction and BJH facilities are working closely with Ameren to ensure coordination and timely communications.

Please contact Christopher Dean, BJC planning, design and construction, at 314-575-1691 or Christopher.dean@bjc.org if you have questions.

Reminder – pedestrian and vehicular safety video and safety pledge
The Pedestrian & Vehicular Safety & Education Program works to address the pedestrian and vehicular safety needs on the WUSM campus. The program provides campus education services that seek to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety and to encourage more walking by creating an environment where pedestrians can walk safely and comfortably.
Watch this video to learn about ways to stay safe while walking, biking and driving. And then, fill out the safety pledge to be safe on campus.
