November 18, 2020
Sent on behalf of Forest Park Forever
Forest Park Forever is partnering with DJM Ecological Services to conduct prescribed burns in the Forest Park Nature Reserve.
Weather conditions and other factors will be evaluated each morning. If conditions are favorable, DJM will be arriving on site around 9:30/10 a.m. The prescribed burn will start at approximately 10/10:30 a.m. Below are current prediction of sites based on current weather forecast.
However, DJM and Forest Park Forever will ultimately select sites based on weather, permit, and the presence of spring ephemerals.
Similar to years past, the St. Louis Fire Department will have a representative on site throughout the entire prescribed burning process. There will be short-term trail and road closures during burn activities. If needed, the Park Rangers are scheduled to assist with road closure activities. All active burning will be halted by 4:30 p.m. each day.
