Queeny Tower Demo Update

Sent on behalf of Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

After months of preparation – removing rooftop mechanical equipment and a 15,000-pound pool, installing 18 stories of plywood and scaffolding to contain debris, and detaching the 24,000-pound bridge connecting Queeny Tower to West Pavilion – demolition of Queeny Tower is accelerating, and the building will be a memory by late September. Watch the time lapse of the bridge removal here.

Demolition will cause periodic noise, dust, vibration and odors, which are being monitored by a third-party vendor for mitigation if action levels are exceeded.

You can keep up on the progress by watching live webcams.
