During the demolition of Queeny Tower and the construction of the new 16-story inpatient tower at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, BJC and its construction partners have been committed to safety. This recent video features the Campus Renewal team, including BJC infection prevention specialist, Loie Couch, highlighting safety measures established to keep patients, visitors, team members and construction workers safe during the 4+ year project. Women in Construction
While Tuesday, March 8 marked the International Women’s Day, March 6-11 was a celebration of Women in Construction Week. While the commercial construction industry remains one largely dominated by men, Women in Construction Week highlights initiatives and work of women in the industry, as well as opportunities available to women in construction.
BJC Planning, Design & Construction took part in several events. On Tuesday morning, the team brought donuts to the Campus Renewal job site and met many of the tradespeople. Donna Ware, BJC executive director of planning & design, shared her journey, and Danielle Emert, McCarthy’s office manager, talked about events for the week.
