Campus Renewal update

Sent on behalf of Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Work in Entry Drive – Week of May 12

Starting May 12, Campus Renewal Project contractors will be working in the entry drop off/valet parking lanes along Barnes-Jewish Plaza. The work will be taking place in one lane, with two lanes remaining open at all times. The work is expected to conclude May 15. In the event of inclement weather, the work will be delayed by one week.

Team members who are dropped off at the main entrance are encouraged to find an alternate location to ensure our patients and visitors have convenient access to the hospital.

Hudlin Park Tree Removal – This Spring

This spring, as part of the Campus Renewal Project, trees will be removed from Hudlin Park on both sides of the entrance to the Plaza Garage along Barnes-Jewish Plaza. The is to enable construction of a new Metro bus stop and a new pedestrian bridge. New trees will be planted as part of an extensive landscaping plan for the project.

We will be removing approximately 20 Callery (commonly known as Bradford) pear trees, which have been popular in landscaping. As a non-native species, they have become invasive, spreading quickly and outcompeting native vegetation. Learn more here from the Missouri Department of Conservation.
