Workplace plant guidelines

The Operations & Facilities Management Department would like to remind all departments of the workplace plant guidelines. The guideline aims to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all university employees, patients, students, and visitors through education on the adverse effects of potted plants in the work setting.

Recently there have been several issues with gnats in administrative areas related to plants and other reports of allergens that impact some employees. Therefore, we recommend not having plants in the administrative or service areas due to allergens and pests from the plants. In addition, the campus restricts all plants in clinical care, critical facilities areas, research labs, and research support spaces. Please review the guidelines for more information and share it with your departments.
