McDonnell Pediatric Research Building – Air Handling Service Interruption

9:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.

OFMD is working with Johnson Controls to upgrade the controls for the supply and exhaust air handling units (AHU-1 & EAHU-1) that serve the laboratories on the northwest side of the building…or roughly half of the laboratory facilities in MPRB. To minimize the impact on the lab occupants, the contractor will be completing the controls upgrades on an overnight schedule as follows:

April 28th – May 3rd: 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM each night
May 5th – May 10th: 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM each night
May 12th – May 17th: 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM each night

• During these work periods, there will be intermittent, reduced exhaust airflow to all of the non-BSL3 laboratories in the building. No work should occur in the fume hoods during the work periods listed above.
• The supply air unit (AHU-1) for the northwestern half of the building will be off intermittently during the times noted above. Supply air and space temperature for these areas will be affected during the work periods listed above.
• The exhaust fans serving the BSL3 lab suites will remain operational during the outage; however, we are asking that no work occur in the BSL3 laboratory suites during the work periods listed above because supply air will be intermittent.

We thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
