Joint Public Safety Center

The new Joint Public Safety Center, located within the Mid Campus Center, is a partnership between Washington University School of Medicine Protective Services, Emergency Management and Barnes-Jewish Hospital Public Safety. While previously operating independently and utilizing incompatible technology, these entities are now working together to make the medical campus a safer place. The goal of the new facility is to provide a quick and seamless response to a wide range of emergencies that affect the physical infrastructure of the campus or critical operations of the institution. To ensure seamless continuity of operations, the space is equipped with generators that will provide uninterrupted service in the event of a power outage. Collocating and integrating the public safety organizations within the new Joint Public Safety Center will serve as the perfect base to strengthen each organization’s capabilities.
