Joint Public Safety Center

The Joint Public Safety Center, located in the Mid Campus Center, is a partnership between Washington University School of Medicine Protective Services, Washington University Emergency Management, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital Public Safety. While previously operating independently and utilizing incompatible technology, these entities now work together to make the medical campus a safer place. The goal of the facility is to provide a quick and seamless response to a wide range of emergencies that affect the physical infrastructure of the campus or critical operations of the institution. To ensure seamless continuity of operations, the space is equipped with generators that can provide uninterrupted service in the event of a power outage. Co-locating and integrating the public-safety organizations within the Joint Public Safety Center strengthens each organization’s capabilities.
