Facilities Operations Update

Maternity west side of building tuckpointing starts October 30th

On Monday, October 30th, tuckpointing on the west side of Maternity will begin on Monday, October 30th. Workers will begin rigging a swing stage for the first drop of the project. The swing stage rigging will be completed during normal dayshift hours. The project will be completed between the hours of 6:00 pm – 8:00 am, to avoid noise and vibration that would impact on building staff. The project is weather dependent, with certain tasks that require nighttime temperatures greater than 40 degrees, in which case these specific tasks will only be performed when temperatures allow. As winter approaches and overnight temperatures drop below 40 degrees, these specific tasks will not be performed and will resume in spring 2024 when overnight temperatures are consistently warmer.

Other project tasks/duties successfully be performed/completed below this temperature threshold. Please see the staging area for the materials. There should not be any impact to Maternity Pit vehicular traffic/deliveries. Warning signage will be posted in appropriate locations, and overhead protection will be installed above the Maternity Pit entrance doors.

For any questions, please contact Antwoine Feaman, Engineering Project Manager.
