New equipment in Clayton & Metro Garages (5.22.17)

We are pleased to announce the installation of the new equipment in the Clayton and Metro Garages is complete. Credit Cards are now accepted at both garages.

Clayton Garage debit passes (formerly called exit passes) are rechargeable and are now sold at the garage. The FISC Desk will no longer sell debit passes.

If you do not already have a rechargeable debit pass for the new system, you will purchase one for $10 on your first exit from the garage which will cover parking for the day.  You will receive a debit pass with $10 charged to it minus the amount used for the first day parking.

Users can then take the debit pass to the self-service kiosk in the northwest elevator lobby and recharge the card in $10 increments up to $500.  The kiosk accepts debit and credit cards.

The FISC also has several tablets where parkers can sign up for monthly parking through payroll deduction, debit or credit card.  Parkers can also pay parking tickets with debit or credit cards now.

Faculty, Staff and Student Parking

Parking for faculty, staff and students can be setup initially by clicking here or by visiting the Facilities Integrated Service Center (FISC) on the First Floor of the Spencer T. Olin Residence Hall, 4550 Scott Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110.

Unless special circumstances exist, most faculty, staff and students will be offered parking in Clayton or Duncan-Central Garage. The garages are located at the intersection of Clayton and S. Taylor Avenue (Clayton Garage) and in the 4400 block of Duncan Avenue (Duncan-Central Garage).

Visitor Parking

Limited visitor parking is available on selected parking lots. The St. Louis City Treasurer’s Office maintains a few parking meters around campus as well. Usually the best option for most visitors to the School of Medicine will be to park on an hourly basis in either the Clayton or Metro Garages.

Effective Monday, January 5th, 2015, WUSM garages will align their visitor rates to campus with that of our hospital partners.  This change will allow WUMC to better communicate and service campus visitors in a streamlined and efficient way.  This change will affect both Metro and Clayton garages.

Prepaid exit passes will continue to be available at the Facilities Integrated Service Center (FISC) in Olin Residence Hall. The cost of the passes will be $30 for 6 exits, $60 for 12, and $120 for 25.  Passes previously purchased will be valid until exhausted.

New (as of January 5th, 2015) WUSM Garage Rates:

  •  0 – 1 hour            $2.00
  • 1 – 2 hours          $3.00
  • 2 – 3 hours          $5.00
  • 3 – 4 hours          $6.00
  • 4 – 5 hours          $7.00
  • 5 – 6 hours          $8.00
  • 6 – 24 hours        $15.00

Visits 30 minutes or less will not be charged.

Cash continues to be the only form of payment accepted in the WUSM garages. However, we are currently exploring adding credit/debit cards.

WUSM will accept both event and hospital validations at both garages.

Disabled Accessibility Parking

Community members requiring a disabled parking permit may establish their eligibility and purchase a disabled permit at the Facilities Integrated Service Center in Olin Residence Hall, First Floor lobby. You may call 314-362-3100 or email wusmfacilities@wusm.wustl.edu with any additional questions.

The university offers a number of transportation options. Metro St. Louis provides transportation near and around the WUSM campus. Motorcycles are required to park in areas designated solely for that purpose. Bicycles are required to park in areas designated solely for that purpose.

Violations Eligible for Vehicle Towing

Some violations to parking regulations could result, in addition to a citation, in the vehicle being towed from campus without prior notice.

Such violations include:

  • Vehicles parked in a fire lane or restricted zone. Campus fire lanes must always be kept clear to allow appropriate response from emergency teams if necessary.
  • Vehicles parked in areas not specifically designated for parking
  • Vehicles parked illegally in a space designated as disabled
  • Vehicles parked in patient spaces
  • In addition to the $500 fine for displaying a lost, stolen, invalid or fraudulent annual, monthly or daily permit, the car will be towed at the owner’s expense. The violator could also have his/her parking privileges revoked, and the owner may be referred for criminal prosecution.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes! We now accept credit cards for daily and monthly parking passes, WUSM badges, ticket payments and exit cards.
