Location: Neuroscience Building Construction Site
Synopsis:  A contractor working at the construction site of the future Neuroscience Building reported the attempted theft of tools in the area. The contractor was notified by a Garda World security officer assigned to patrol 4340 Duncan Ave. (formerly known as the Crescent Building) that a suspicious person was seen on their surveillance cameras early in the morning. The security officer confronted the subject who dropped several tools and various other items before fleeing the area. The security officer recovered the property and returned it. The contractor checked the construction site and noticed a lock box had been pried open. All items taken were recovered. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack
Synopsis:  While monitoring CCTV in real time, Protective Services dispatchers observed a subject tampering with a bicycle at the Euclid Power Plant bike rack. Officers responded to the area and located the subject. Officers prevented the subject from cutting the cable lock of the bicycle. Protective Services issued the subject a trespass warning and escorted him from campus.
Disposition:  Suspect located and warned against future trespass.

Location: Wohl Hospital, 2nd Floor
Synopsis:  A WUSM contractor reported several rolls of copper wiring and copper pipes left in a locked room on the 2nd floor of Wohl Hospital were loaded into a bin. The bin was located outside of the door. The contractors did not leave the items in the bin and believed someone had loaded them into the bin in an attempt to steal them. Some of the copper piping was cut to better fit inside the bin.  Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack
Synopsis:  Officers responded to the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack for a report of a bike theft in progress.  Officers interrupted a subject in the process of tampering with a bicycle.  The subject removed the rear wheel from a bicycle secured to the rack.  Upon noticing officers, the subject fled.  The subject ignored officers' commands to stop and continued on foot.  The subject dropped the wheel and fled campus.  Contact information was left for the bicycle owner to retrieve the wheel.
Disposition:  Investigation Ongoing

Location: Euclid Power Plant Bike Racks
Synopsis:  Protective Services officers observed a subject behaving suspiciously at the Euclid Power Plant bike racks. The officers believed the subject was attempting to steal a bicycle. They approached the subject who fled on foot. Officers pursued and caught up with the subject near the intersection of S. Taylor Ave. and Nash Way. The subject was noncompliant with officers' commands and repeatedly reached inside a bag he was carrying. Officers eventually took the subject into custody and determined he had active warrants. The SLMPD responded to campus and arrested the subject.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown.

Synopsis:  While monitoring CCTV, Protective Services dispatchers observed a subject pulling on car handles of vehicles parked at the Euclid Meters and the 818 S. Euclid Ave. surface lot. Protective Services officer located and identified the subject. The SLMPD responded to campus and arrested the subject for outstanding warrants.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown

Location:  400 block S. Euclid Ave.
Synopsis:  A courier parked her vehicle on Euclid Ave. near the MetroLink station to make a delivery. When she returned, a subject unknown to her was in her vehicle, removing items. She confronted the subject who returned her property and left the area. The courier contacted Protective Services. Officers located the subject and identified him. Officers ensured he did not retain any of the courier's property before escorting him from the area. A BOLO was created and disseminated to campus security to prevent future trespass.
Disposition: Suspect Identified. Investigation Complete

Report No. 201100479 (Protective Services Incident)

Location: Euclid Avenue Bike Rack
Synopsis: A Protective Services officer observed a subject acting suspiciously near the Euclid Avenue Bike Rack. Based on his unusual behavior, officers attempted to contact the subject. The subject refused orders and fled toward Hope Plaza. Protective Services officer pursued the subject through Hope Plaza toward the McDonnell Pediatric Research Building. The subject turned and verbally threatened to shoot the officers. The officers saw no weapon displayed, and therefore continued the foot pursuit. Protective Services officers, assisted by BJH Public Safety apprehended the subject on Forest Park Avenue. The subsequent investigation at the bike rack concluded that the subject had been attempting to cut through a bicycle lock at the time he was confronted by officers. The subject also had an active warrant. He was turned over to the SLMPD.
Disposition: Suspect arrested and turned over to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Judicial disposition unknown.
