Synopsis:  An employee reported the theft of $180 in cash from a purse in an unsecured office. The employee reported two unknown contract couriers were in the office around the time the theft occurred. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  Two unidentified subjects entered and rummaged through an unlocked vehicle parked near the CID Dorm. The subjects wandered through campus and entered campus buildings before leaving the area. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Clinical Sciences Research Building North Tower Addition (CSRB NTA) 5th Floor
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported cash missing from an unlocked locker in the locker room of the 5th floor of the CSRB NTA. The employee placed a quantity of money in her locker on the morning of 4/4/23. When she returned later that afternoon, the bulk of the money was gone. On 4/5/23 she placed the rest of the money in the unlocked locker. When she returned later that morning, the rest of the money was gone. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Neuroscience Research Building (NRB) 4th and 5th Floor
Synopsis:  Three contract employees reported their wallets were stolen from unsecured break rooms at the NRB construction site. All three noticed their wallets were gone after receiving alerts from their banks regarding suspicious charges on their credits cards. There are no CCTV cameras in the area of the theft. The SLMPD took a report.
Disposition: Referred to the SLMPD.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of cash from her vehicle parked in the Clayton Garage. The employee parked her vehicle in the garage at 9:30 am. When she returned at about 5:30 pm, she discovered the passenger side window was broken and the cash she had left on her the passenger seat was gone.  Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Meters
Synopsis:  BJH Public Safety officers notified Protective Services officers that a vehicle had been broken into on the Euclid Meters. The suspect had fled the area north on Euclid Ave. Protective Services dispatchers began to monitor the area in real time using CCTV cameras. The suspect was located on the MetroLink platform. Protective Services and BJH Public Safety attempted to apprehend the suspect on the platform, however the suspect fled into the MetroLink tunnel. An oncoming train was forced to stop in the tunnel due to the suspect running on the tracks. The suspect attempted to pry open the doors to the train, however his hand became trapped in the doors, rendering him unable to flee. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) responded to the scene and arrested the suspect.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown.

Location: Mid Campus Center (MCC) Book Store
Synopsis:  Employees of the MCC Book Store reported an unknown subject entered the store and began filling two red drawstring bags with merchandise. The subject then left the store without paying. Protective Services officers attempted to locate the subject but were unsuccessful. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Mid Campus Center (MCC) Bike Rack
Synopsis:   A WUSM employee parked his bicycle at the MCC bike rack at approximately 4:45am. He secured the bicycle with a cable lock. Upon his return at 1:00pm, the bicycle was gone. A review of CCTV footage showed an unknown subject stole the bicycle at approximately 6:56am. Protective Services is investigating. UPDATE 6/7/2023: The subject who stole the bicycle was located on campus and arrested. The SLMPD took custody of the subject. The bicycle was not recovered.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown.
