Synopsis:  A student reported the theft of his Airpods from cubicle in the East Imaging Center. He left the Airpods in their case on his desk in a cubicle on the second floor of the East Imaging Center at about 1:00pm. When he returned at about 5:15pm, the Airpods were gone. The student used the FindMy app and determined the Airpods were no longer on campus. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle from the Euclid Power Plant bike rack. The employee parked his bike at the rack around 9:15 am. He believed he secured it with a U-Lock. When he returned at about 4:15pm, the bike was gone. CCTV revealed a subject stole the bicycle without having to manipulate a locking device. The bike was equipped with an AirTag which provided a location in Illinois. Local police went to the area and retrieved the bike. The bike was returned to the employee. The subject who stole the bicycle was identified and a relevant BOLO was disseminated to campus security.

Location: Mid Campus Center (MCC) 10th Floor
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of a bag that contained office supplies, ear buds, and medication. The bag was last seen in a cubicle on the 10th floor of the MCC on 5/22/2025. Staff noticed that it was gone on 5/28/2025. No other items were reported missing from the area. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Clinical Sciences Research Building (CSRB) 2nd Floor WUIT Tech Bar
Synopsis:  Protective Services responded to the WUIT Tech bar on the 2nd floor of the CSRB for a theft report. An employee reported that an unidentified subject removed items from behind the desk. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject jumped over the desk and stole several computer accessory items. WUIT confirmed no computers or other data devices were taken.  Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A patient called the day after their appointment and reported a quantity of cash was missing from their purse.  The patient reported they left their purse unattended in an exam room for a short time and returned to find it had been moved and a pocket unzipped.  Our investigation is ongoing.

Location: 4444 Forest Park Ave. bike rack
Synopsis:  An employee saw an unaffiliated subject exchange the bike they were riding for a bike they removed from the 4444 bike rack.  The subject departed the area and left thier original bike at the rack.  Officers discovered a cut cable lock on the ground.  An employee later reported his bike missing from the rack. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  An employee left a box containing a set of headphones on their desk in the Mid Campus Center.  The employee returned to work and found the headphones missing and the empty box on their desk.  Our investigation continues.

Location: Gary C. Werths Building at Siteman Cancer Center (GCWB)
Synopsis:  A patient called and reported a quantity of cash was missing from their purse after her appointment at the GCWB.  The patient reported they left their purse in an exam room with an employee for a short time. When she returned, the employee was behaving suspiciously. When the patient returned home, she realized the cash was missing from her purse. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Clinical Sciences Research Building (CSRB) 2nd Floor Link, WUSM Tech Bar
Synopsis:  WUSM employees assigned to the WUSM Tech Bar on the 2nd floor of the CSRB reported finding several desk and cabinet drawers were opened and rummaged through upon his arrival at work. The employee reported a charger, docking station and flash drive were missing. A review of CCTV footage in the area showed an unidentified subject jumped over the Tech Bar counter and accessed the area.  The subject left the area with a red backpack with which he did not arrive and a laptop. He walked through other areas of campus and ultimately left camera view carrying a bin full of items. The unidentified subject is the same person responsible for a similar theft report on 6/16/2025.  Protective Services is investigating.
