Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his WUSM ID badge, MetroLink pass and credit/debit cards from his wallet that was left in a unsecured lab space. A check of the CCTV camera footage revealed an unknown subject pulling on door handles in the area of the North Building. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  An unaffiliated visitor to campus reported cash was stolen from him while he was sleeping the area of the Metro Bus Depot. He could not provide a description of the person who took the money. SLMPD was called to the scene and took a report.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported a laptop stand was missing from her cubicle. She had last seen the stand on 8/20/2021. Upon returning to work on 8/23/2021, she noticed all of her cables laying on her desk and the stand was missing.  Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Power Plant Bicycle Rack
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported his bicycle was missing from the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. He had placed the bike against the metal fence near the racks and used a cable lock. Upon his return, the bike was gone, however the cable lock remained with no discernible damage. A review of the CCTV footage in the area showed the employee had mistakenly not used the cable lock to secure the bike. An unknown subject took the bike at approximately 2:30pm and immediately left via the MetroLink. A BOLO was issued for the responsible party.  Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of a catalytic converter from a University owned van that had been parked in front of the 4511 Forest Park Ave. Building over the weekend. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A WUSM contractor report the theft of approximately $1,000 worth of tools from a construction trailer. The trailer had been secure, however the contractor located an overturned trashcan underneath a window. Upon closer inspection, the window latch had been pried open. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Clayton Garage
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported seeing a suspicious subject crouching behind vehicles in the Clayton Garage. The employee reported the subject to the attendant who called Protective Services. Officers reported to the area and noticed two vehicle registration tags were missing from vehicles where the subject had been seen. A review of the CCTV footage in the area showed an unknown subject, matching the description given by the employee, had entered the garage on foot and left several minutes later. The subject got into a vehicle parked on McKinley Ave. and departed campus. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) Bike Rack
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported his bike was missing from the bike rack at the CAM. The employee parked his biked on 10/5/21 at approximately 10:00am and it was missing upon his return at 6:30pm. The employee reported the theft the next day.  A review of the CCTV footage of the area revealed a subject stole the bike on at approximately 2:50pm by using bolt cutters to defeat the lock. BJH Public Safety reported the same subject was responsible for stealing a BJH employee's bike, stealing from several cars in the Euclid Garage and stealing from the Plaza Gift Shop. A Protective Services officer recognized the subject and was able to make a positive identification. Protective Services is investigating.
