Synopsis: An employee reported her vest had been stolen from an unlocked closet in the Mid Campus Center. She had placed the vest there the morning of 4/15/2021. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: A WUSM community member reported her bicycle had been stolen from the CSRB Bike Rack. The bicycle was leaning against the outside of the corral. A U-Lock was present but was not used to secure the bicycle to the corral. A review of the CCPD cameras in the area revealed an unknown subject stole the bicycle and rode it northbound on Euclid off campus. Protective Services is investigating.
On 5/10/2021, Protective Services located and recovered the stolen bicycle. It was in possession of a person who stated he found it several days earlier. He did not match the description of the subject who stole the bicycle. The bicycle was returned to the owner.

Synopsis: A catalytic converter was stolen from a university-owned box truck parked overnight at the 4533 Clayton Avenue Building. A review of the CCTV footage showed a vehicle enter the parking lot on 3/16/2021 at approximately 3:02 am. A subject exited the vehicle and spent a few minutes around the truck. The subject re-entered the vehicle and immediately drove away, leaving campus.
Disposition: Protective Services is investigating.

Location: 1234 S. Kingshighway Blvd.
Synopsis: A contract employee reported the theft of six catalytic converters from shuttles that had been parked overnight on the 1234 S. Kingshighway parking lot. A review of the CCTV cameras revealed an unknown subject removed the catalytic converters at approximately 2:00 a.m. The subject accessed the lot through a section of fence that had been cut. The subject returned approximately 30 minutes later with a vehicle to transport the stolen catalytic converters. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Center for Outpatient Health (COH)
Synopsis: Employees of a clinical department in the COH reported a quantity of Target gift cards was missing from a plastic storage bin. The cards were given out to research participants. The cards were last seen approximately one month ago. The clinic personnel attempted to cancel the cards, however most of the cards had already been used. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: An employee reported parking her vehicle in the Clayton Taylor Garage on Friday, 6/4/2021. Upon returning to the vehicle, she noticed a loud sound coming from the exhaust. She had the vehicle towed and was later told the catalytic converter had been stolen. After learning this, the employee called in the theft to Protective Services for investigation. She was advised to make a report with the SLMPD, as well.

Synopsis: A contractor reported a gas-powered cutoff saw had been stolen from the parking lot where it had been left unattended. A review of the CCTV footage in the area revealed an unknown subject driving on the lot, stealing the saw and leaving immediately. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A catalytic converter was stolen from a university-owned box truck parked overnight at the 4533 Clayton Avenue Building. A review of the CCTV footage showed a vehicle enter the parking lot on 6/13/2021. A subject exited the vehicle and spent several minutes in the parking lot before ultimately stealing the catalytic converter and leaving campus.
Disposition: Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A catalytic converter was stolen from a university-controlled box truck parked overnight at the 4533 Clayton Avenue Building. A review of the CCTV footage showed a vehicle enter the parking lot in the early evening of 6/15/2021. A subject exited the vehicle and was observed near the truck. He then re-entered his vehicle with a large silver object believed to be the catalytic converter. The subject is the same person who stole a catalytic converter from the same lot on 6/13/2021. A report was made to the SLMPD. Protective Services is assisting in the investigation.

Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported the theft of the front license plate from her vehicle. She believed the theft to have taken place during the business hours of 6/16/2021. Upon review of the CCTV cameras, it was determined the vehicle arrived on campus without a front plate and the theft did not occur on campus.
