Location: @4240 Building
Synopsis: Staff from the Physical Therapy suite of the @4240 Building called Protective Services to report a suspicious person who spent a significant amount of time in the restroom of the suite. They later reported some toiletry items missing and an air freshener had been removed from the wall. The subject was gone prior to the report being made to Protective Services. Officers searched the area with negative results. About 90 minutes later, staff saw the subject loitering near the front of the @4240 Building. Officers located the subject, identified him and warned him against trespassing in the building. A relevant BOLO was disseminated amongst campus security to prevent the subject from future trespass.

Location: 200 Block Taylor Ave.
Synopsis: A SLMPD officer working as security for The City's Finest (TCF), observed a portable toilet fully engulfed in flames in the 200 block of Taylor Ave. The SLFD arrived and extinguished the flames. Protective Services officers reviewed CCTV footage and saw a subject enter the portable toilet briefly before exiting and walking north on Taylor Ave. The toilet began smoking shortly after his exit. Protective Services officer located the subject just north of campus. He was identified and the SLMPD declined to take custody. Protective Services officers warned him against future trespass.
Disposition: Trespass Warning Issued

Synopsis: During the assault documented in Incident No. 2405-00198, the male subject was combative with Protective Services officers. He resisted arrest and while doing so, broke a large concrete planter outside of EPNEC.
Disposition: Subject identified and warned against future trespass.

Location: Ambulatory Cancer Building (ACB)
Synopsis: Protective Services officers noticed a broken window on the exterior of the ACB on 6/14/2024. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject threw an object at the window several days earlier. However, while the window shattered, it remained within the window pane for several days until a passing storm precipitated its fall. A BOLO was created and disseminated amongst campus security in an effort to identify the responsible party. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) 1st Floor
Synopsis: Officers responded to the first floor of the MIR building for a report of property damage. Employees in the area reported that someone had been routinely clogging a toilet in the bathroom near the elevators. In addition, the person appeared to intentionally throw trash and feces around the bathroom. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: 400 block S. Kingshighway Blvd.
Synopsis: Protective Services officers observed a one vehicle collision on the median of S. Kingshighway Blvd. near the Barnes-Jewish Emergency Department. There was heavy damage to the vehicle and damage to the median. The driver of the vehicle exited and walked away from the scene. Officers followed the driver who publicly relieved himself. Officers detained the subject and returned to the vehicle. Officers determined the subject was likely under the influence of a drug or alcohol. Officers observed alcohol and suspected marijuana in the vehicle. Officers called the SLMPD to the scene. The SLMPD officer responded and took custody of the subject.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown.

Synopsis: During routine patrol, Protective Services officers located minor vandalism in the men's restroom on the 8th floor of the CSRB. Several politically based stickers were affixed to a bathroom stall. They were unable to be removed without damage to the stall. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A witness observed a subject intentionally damage a vehicle parked in the garage. The subject repeatedly and forcefully opened his vehicle's passenger door causing the door to impact the vehicle parked adjacent. The repeated impact caused noticeable damage to the adjacent vehicle. The subject drove away without reporting the damage. Protective Services is investigating.
