Synopsis: Protective Services responded to the area of the West Building for two unaffiliated subjects who were verbally fighting. Officers determined the fight originated after one subject attempted to steal the shoes from the other as he was sleeping. Officers told both subjects to leave the area. Later that same morning, one of the subjects returned and became combative with BJH Public Safety officers. Officers took him into custody. They determined he had no active warrants. He was released with a written warning against future trespass.
Disposition: Investigation Complete. Trespass Warning Issued.

Location: Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC) and Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM)
Synopsis: Protective Services responded to the 2nd floor of EPNEC for a report of a suspicious person pulling on door handles. The subject was gone prior to officers arriving in the area. However, a community member told officers the subject was in the Link walking toward the CAM. Protective Service notified BJH Public Safety and asked for assistance looking for the subject. He was located near the Euclid Garage entry from the CAM. The subject admitted to accessing campus through the Euclid Garage. He found a visitor's sticker on the elevator wall and put it on to blend in. He was in possession of suspected drugs which were confiscated by BJH Public Safety. He was released with a warning against future trespass.
Disposition: Investigation Complete. Trespass Warning Issued.

Location: BJC Institute of Health
Synopsis: Officers received a report that a subject attempted to enter the North Building but was unsuccessful. A review of the CCTV showed the subject was able to enter the BJC Institute of Health. Officers recognized the subject, who was the same person who trespassed at an event at EPNEC several weeks ago. Officers eventually located the subject at the Metro Bus Depot. The subject was belligerent and noncompliant with officers. She attempted to physically fight with and spit at officers. Eventually officers took her into custody and called the SLMPD. The SLMPD declined to respond. Officers released the subject with a written warning against future trespass.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested and Released. Trespass Warning Issued.

Synopsis: Protective Services officers assisted two MetroLink Public Safety officers with a subject who was laying on the ground near Sarah and Clayton Avenues. MetroLink officers said the subject had jumped onto the MetroLink tracks and laid down. MetroLink officers called the SLMPD but the subject walked away prior to their arrival. Protective Services officers monitored the subject as he left to ensure that he did not trespass on campus property. The subject walked to the BJC Commons and laid down. BJC Public Safety warned the subject against future trespass and escorted him from the property. Later, Protective Services officers observed the same subject trespassing at the BJC Commons again. BJH Public Safety officers detained him and contacted the SLMPD. The SLMPD declined to respond so the subject was released with another warning against future trespass. About an hour later, BJH Public Safety officers notified Protective Services that the same subject had trespassed in the @4240 Building. Protective Services arrived and took custody of the subject. They determined the subject was highly intoxicated. They called the SLMPD, who again declined to respond. Officers contacted the subjects wife who responded to pick him up. He was released to her with another warning against future trespass.

Synopsis: Protective Services encountered the same person trespassing on campus property several times between 1/14/2026 and 1/15/2026. He became increasingly noncompliant during every interaction. The SLMPD eventually responded and took custody of the subject.

Synopsis: Environment Services staff found the restrooms on the 2nd floor of the CSRB have sustained some property damage and intentionally clogged toilets. A review of CCTV footage in the area showed a known trespasser spent significant time in the restrooms. A BOLO was disseminated to campus security.
Disposition: Suspect Identified. Investigation Ongoing

Location: Mid Campus Center (MCC)
Synopsis: Protective Services officers encountered an unaffiliated subject loitering on campus near the MCC dock. Officers directed the subject to the Metro Bus Depot several times. The subject refused to depart the area and followed the officers to the east entrance to the MCC. Officers informed the subject he was not allowed to enter the MCC. Despite repeated warnings, the subject made his way inside. Officers detained him and called the SLMPD. BJH Public Safety notified Protective Services officers that the same subject had been issued a warning against future trespass the night before. The SLMPD arrived on scene and took custody of the subject. The subject asked to be taken to a mental hospital. The SLMPD advised they would escort him to Mercy Hospital.
Disposition: Subject Identified. Trespass Warning Issued.

Location: McMillan Hospital Building
Synopsis: A Protective Services officer observed two people "piggy-back" into the McMillan Hospital Building after a community member used a badge to enter. One person presented a badge to the office. The other subject refused and continued toward the restrooms. The officer directed the subject to stop and the subject threatened physical harm against the officer. The officer waited for an additional officer to respond and re-engaged the subject as he exited the restroom. The subject immediately became combative and resisted all officer commands. The officers were eventually able to detain the subject and place him in handcuffs. The SLMPD arrived and cited the subject for criminal trespass. He was released and escorted from campus.

Location: Maternity Hospital
Synopsis: Officers encountered a group of people that were smoking and drinking alcohol near the Maternity Hospital garden area. Officers notified the subjects that they could not smoke in that area. Three of the subjects left the area, but one subject stayed despite repeated orders to depart campus. Officers monitored the subject, who was showing signs of extreme intoxication. They contacted her again to offer assistance. The subject attempted to walk into traffic. Based on her behavior, officers decided to detain her. The subject became aggressive, refused officers commands, and attempted to assault them. Officers were able to take her into custody and contacted the SLMPD. The SLMPD arrived on scene and took custody of the subject. She was charged with trespassing and arrested for several active warrants.

Synopsis: Protective Services responded to the TAB to assist Barnes-Jewish Hospital Public Safety officers with a suspicious person. The subject pulled a knife and threatened a Metro Public Safety officer in the Metro Bus Depot. The subject showed signs of being mentally ill and extremely intoxicated. Protective Services issued the subject a written warning against future trespass. The SLMPD responded to the scene and took custody of the subject.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown.
