Location:  Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC) 4th Floor
Synopsis:   Protective Services responded the 4th floor of the FLTC for a report of a suspicious person acting strangely in a conference room. Officers located and engaged with the subject. The subject was hostile with officers and became aggressive. The subject had active warrants for which he was taken into custody. The subject requested medical treatment and was conveyed to the Barnes-Jewish Emergency Department. The SLMPD declined to arrest the subject for the warrants due to the need for medical treatment. A BOLO was disseminated amongst campus security to prevent the subject from trespassing in the future.
Disposition: Investigation Complete. Trespass Warning Issued.

Location:  Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC) 4th Floor
Synopsis:   Protective Services observed a known trespasser in the FLTC. Officers lost sight of the subject and used CCTV to track him through campus. They located the subject in the McDonnell Pediatric Research Building. They confronted the subject and determined he had been removed from campus earlier in the day by BJH Public Safety. The subject was compliant and had no contraband on him. Officers warned him against future trespass and escorted him from campus.
Disposition: Investigation Complete. Trespass Warning Issued.

Larceny/ Trespassing

Location:  BJC Institute of Health (BJCIH)
Synopsis:   An employee reported his backpack missing from the first floor of the BJCIH. He left his backpack containing approximately $2000 worth of equipment in the fire control room. The door was propped open. When he returned about 20 minutes later, the backpack was gone. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject piggy-backed into the building and took the backpack. He then rode the elevator to the fourth floor. Protective Services officer were unable to locate the subject. However, they found the backpack in the bathroom of the 4th floor. The employee reported nothing was missing from within. About an hour later, Protective Services received a delayed report of a subject trespassing in a lab on the 9th floor of the BJCIH. The description of the subject matched the description of the person who stole the backpack. The employee did not report the incident for several hours. Protective Services is investigating.

Larceny/ Trespassing

Location:  McDonnell Pediatric Research Building (MPRB) 7th Floor
Synopsis:   An employee reported a suspicious person sleeping in the 7th floor break room in the MPRB. Protective Services responded and made contact with the subject. Officers determined the person had no legitimate purpose in the building. The subject had consumed food and drinks from the break room that did not belong to him. He also took emergency flashlights from the break room. Officers took the subject into custody and called the SLMPD. The SLMPD declined to respond. Officers warned the subject against future trespass and escorted him from campus.
Disposition: Subject Identified. Trespass Warning Issued.

Trespassing

Location: 4570 McKinley Ave.
Synopsis: Protective Services officers located a subject who was trespassing near the 4570 McKinley Ave. building. The subject was non-compliant and aggressive with officers. He refused to identify himself and made threats of harm to the officers. The subject then stated that he was going to walk to the Emergency Department. He was stopped by BJH Public Safety officers who escorted him to the Emergency Department due to his aggressive behavior. Investigation Complete.

Location: McMillan Hospital Building, BJC Institute of Health (BJCIH)
Synopsis: Protective Services officers responded to a report of a suspicious person trespassing in BJCIH. Earlier, the subject had tried to access the McMillan Hospital Building using a stolen BJC badge. Officers located the subject near the Barnes Jewish Hospital cafeteria and took him into custody. Protective Services warned him against future trespass and turned him over to BJH Public Safety. 
Disposition: suspect Identified and Arrested.

Synopsis: Protective Service located a known trespasser on the 2nd floor of the Mid Campus Center. He was detained and officers determined that he had several active warrants. The SLMPD was notified but declined to respond to arrest the subject. The subject was again warned against future trespass and escorted from campus. 
Disposition: Subject arrested and warned against future trespass.

Suspicious Activity, Trespassing

Location: Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) 4th Floor
Synopsis: Employees of the 4th floor of the MIR building reported finding blankets in a restroom suggesting that someone is trespassing and sleeping in the restroom overnight. Protective Services is investigating.
