Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported witnessing an unidentified subject pulling license plate tabs from a vehicle parked on the 4511 Forest Park Ave. surface lot. By the time officers arrived, the subject was gone. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: Campus Store employees reported a male subject took a large quantity of candy and departed the store. Our dispatchers viewed live CCTV and located the subject on the MetroLink platform. We made contact with him and recovered the stolen candy along with numerous pairs of sunglasses he had stolen from Walgreens prior to his arrival to campus. There were outstanding warrants for the subject issued by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD). We took the subject into custody on the warrants. SLMPD was unable to respond to campus to take custody of the subject. We issued him a trespass warning and escorted him to the MetroLink platform. We secured the sunglasses in our property room to be returned to Walgreens.

Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported the theft of her license plate tabs while her vehicle was parked on the surface parking lot of the 4511 Forest Park Ave. Building. The employee parked her vehicle around 6:00am and when she returned after 5:00pm, she noticed the tabs were missing. Another employee reported the tabs on her license plate were missing as well. Protective Services officers canvassed the parking lot and located a third vehicle missing the license plate tabs. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject entered the parking lot on foot at about 9:17am. He approached the three vehicles and appeared to take the tabs from the license plates. He left campus on foot. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: BJH Public Safety officers observed a subject who appeared to be tampering with bicycles at the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. The subject attempted to evade officers but was eventually taken into custody. While in custody, a quantity of narcotics was found on his person. A review of CCTV footage showed the subject had stolen two bicycles from the bike rack over the period of several hours. One bicycle was recovered. The SLMPD responded to campus and arrested the subject.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown

Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported his bicycle was missing from the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. This was in relation to Incident No. 2406-00238 where BJH Public Safety officers observed a subject who appeared to be tampering with bicycles at the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. The subject attempted to evade officers but was eventually taken into custody. While in custody, a quantity of narcotics was found on his person. A review of CCTV footage showed the subject had stolen two bicycles from the bike rack over the period of several hours. One bicycle was recovered, however it was not the employee's bicycle. The owner of the recovered bicycle has not come forward to claim it. The SLMPD responded to campus and arrested the subject.

Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle from the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. He parked the bicycle and secured it with a cable lock at 7:00am. Upon his return at 3:30pm, the bicycle was gone. A review of CCTV footage showed the same subject responsible for two bike thefts on 6/15/2024 under Incident Nos. 2406-00238 and 2406-00240 returned to campus and stole the bicycle. A BOLO was issued for the subject. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A Protective Services officer observed a suspect in several recent bike thefts acting suspiciously near the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. The officer located the subject on the MetroLink platform in possession of a bike they had removed from the rack. The officer took the subject into custody and summoned the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) to campus. SLMPD positively identified the suspect, who had provided a false name on several recent encounters. SLMPD took the suspect into custody and he was issued a written warning against future trespass.

Synopsis: Officers encountered a suspicious subject on Scott Ave. pushing a Barnes-Jewish Hospital wheelchair filled with tools, construction materials, and apparent burglary tools. A review of CCTV footage confirmed the subject had taken the items from the alley north of Farrell Learning and Teaching Center. Officers issued the subject a trespass warning and confiscated the stolen items. The subject departed campus via the MetroLink and officers returned the items to their original locations.

Synopsis: Protective Services dispatchers observed a subject steal a backpack from another subject who was sleeping outside the West Building. Officers made contact with the subject who was identified as a known trespasser. Officers recovered and returned the backpack. The SLMPD was notified but declined to respond to campus. The subject was reminded of his trespass warning and escorted from campus.
Disposition: Suspect Identified. Trespass warning issued.
