Synopsis: A WUSM employee contacted Protective Services with a delayed report of the theft of cash several credit cards from her purse. The employee noticed fraudulent charges on her accounts on 5/10/2022, but believed the issue was related to an online scam. On 5/12/2022, when the employee opened her wallet to pay for a purchase, she noticed two credits cards and approximately $200 in cash was missing. The last time she had opened her wallet was on 5/9/2022. The only time her purse and wallet were not on her person or in her residence prior to the fraudulent charges was on 5/10/2022. She kept her purse under her desk while at work in the @4240 building. The employee believes the cash and cards were stolen at that time. The employee made a report with the SLMPD. Protective Services is assisting the SLMPD in their investigation.

Synopsis: Upon arriving to work on 5/31/2022, several Grant Medical Clinic employees noticed their desks were in disarray. Several food items and $40 in cash was missing from the clinic. There was no forced entry to the building. Protective Service is investigating.

Synopsis: On 6/4/2022, a WUSM employee called Protective Services to report the catalytic converter had been stolen from her vehicle while she was parked on the 4444 Forest Park East Surface Lot on 5/31/2022. A review of CCTV footage in the area revealed the employee was mistaken about the time frame. The theft occurred on 6/2/2022, at approximately 8:30 am. A black Cadillac pulled onto the lot and idled in the driving lane with its flashers on. An unknown male subject exited the Cadillac and approached the employee's vehicle. He remained near her vehicle for several minutes before he returned to the Cadillac and immediately left campus. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A WUSM student reported they had secured their bike to the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack that morning. When they returned for their bike at the end of the day, both the bike and bike lock were missing. A review of CCTV footage revealed a known subject had defeated the lock and removed the bike from the rack at approximately 1:45 pm. The subject departed campus with the bike via MetroLink. Protective Services and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating.

Synopsis: A Communications Officer observed a subject via CCTV as the subject attempted to remove a bike from the Couch Building bike rack. Officers detained the subject who denied trying to take the bike. The subject was issued a trespass warning and removed from campus.

Synopsis: An employee reported the theft of a microphone and a cable from the podium in the Wohl Auditorium some time between 6/13/2022 at 1:00 pm and 6/15/2022 at 12:55 pm. Protective Services is investigating. Updated 6/23/2022: The microphone was located and no crime occurred.

Synopsis: A Barnes-Jewish Hospital employee reported his bike was missing from the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack where he had secured it with a cable lock. A review of CCTV footage in the area showed an unknown subject stole the bike at approximately 4:53 am and rode it off campus. Images of the subject have been disseminated to campus security in an effort to locate and identify him.

Synopsis: A Protective Services officer noticed a bicycle at the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack was missing a tire. A review of CCTV showed a subject taking the tire from the bike the night before. The owner of the bicycle was made aware of the theft and declined to make a report with the SLMPD. The CCTV footage showed the same subject who stole the tire also stole the tire of an abandoned bicycle a week prior. Protective Services has disseminated the subject's picture to campus security in an effort to locate and identify him.

Location: Clinical Sciences Research Building (CSRB) bike corral
Synopsis: A BJH employee reported his bicycle was stolen from the CSRB bike corral. He placed it in the bike corral on 7/20/2022, unsecured. Upon returning on the morning of 7/21/2022, the bike was gone. His helmet had been hanging on the handle bars when he left the bicycle. The helmet was located on top of a trash bin near the Mid Campus Center. A review of CCTV cameras in the area showed a subject riding the bike through campus. The subject was identified and his information was disseminated to campus security. Protective Services is investigating.
