Synopsis: A Protective Services officer noticed an entry gate arm was missing from its post on the 1234 S. Kingshighway Building Parking Lot. A review of CCTV cameras revealed an employee drove through the entrance with the gate arms in the closed position the previous morning.
Disposition: The information was turned over to Parking and Transportation.

Synopsis:  A Protective Services officer conducted an area check at 1234 S. Kingshighway  found an entry gate arm on the ground, separated from the base at the southwest entry to the parking lot. A review of the CCTV footage showed a shuttle bus attempted to enter the gate behind another shuttle, causing the arm to come down on the second bus and break.
Disposition: Reported to Parking and Transportation for information/action.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported her vehicle was struck by another vehicle while attempting to park in the Clayton Garage. The striking vehicle immediately left the area. The employee was unable to get a plate or further description of the striking vehicle. Protective Services is investigating. UPDATE 6/28/2021- The driver of the striking vehicle was located.
Disposition: Investigation Complete

Synopsis:  A Protective Services officer conducted an area check at 1234 S. Kingshighway and found damage to the fencing near the west entrance. A review of the CCTV footage showed a shuttle bus entered the parking lot and scraped the fencing, breaking a latch post and a sensor reflector. The driver of the shuttle did not report the damage to Protective Services.
Disposition: Reported to Parking and Transportation for information/action.

Synopsis: A Protective Services officer noticed an entry gate arm was missing from its post on the 818 S. Euclid surface lot. A review of CCTV cameras revealed an unknown subject drove through the gate arm and immediately left campus. The investigation was unable to determine the responsible party.
Disposition: Investigation Completed.

Vandalism

Synopsis: A Protective Services officer noticed some graffiti on a pillar outside of the EPNEC building. A review of the CCTV camera footage revealed a subject in the area where the graffiti was discovered. Using the CCTV camera system, officers tracked the vandal to Parkview Tower (PVT) where he was identified as a contract employee through BJH. The subject admitted to the vandalism and officers advised him he was no longer welcome on campus.
Disposition: Suspect Identified. Investigation Complete.

Synopsis:  Protective Services officers responded to a report of a property damage to a vehicle on McKinley Ave. A subject walking eastbound on McKinley Ave. used a pocket knife to shatter the passenger side windows of a vehicle parked on the south side of the street. The subject continued walking eastbound on McKinley Ave. without attempting to enter the vehicle or damage any other parked vehicles. At approximately 1:15 pm, the SLMPD had taken a subject into custody in the Metro Garage. The subject was wanted for several instances of property damage in the area. Protective Services officers verified that the person in SLMPD's custody was the same subject that had damaged the vehicle on McKinley Ave.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown
