Location: Service Road south of Metro Garage
Synopsis:  A Protective Services Officer noticed damage to the fence along the service road south of the Metro Garage. A review of CCTV showed a yellow box truck caused the damage while turning onto southbound Taylor Ave. The driver of the truck stopped to assess the damage, however failed to report it to Protective Services. The driver was identified and Protective Services is working to obtain insurance information.
Disposition: Driver Identified. Investigation Ongoing

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported damage to a University owned vehicle parked in the Clayton Garage. The employee parked the vehicle in the garage approximately three days prior to making the report. Upon returning to the vehicle on 1/11/2023, the employee noticed damage to the passenger side door handle. The cause of the damage and the intent is unknown. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported damage to two exterior windows at the Forest Park Kidney Center. The windows were intact on 01/14/2023 when employees departed. Upon returning to work on 1/17/2023, employees noticed the damage. The cause of the damage and the intent is unknown. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Taylor Ave. at Scott Ave.
Synopsis:  A Lyft driver reported driving southbound on S. Taylor Ave. when the vehicle next to her stopped near the crosswalk. The Lyft driver could not see around the stopped vehicle and did not notice a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The driver stopped once she saw the pedestrian, however the pedestrian walking in the crosswalk was upset. The pedestrian cross through the crosswalk, but then turned around and grabbed the passenger side mirror of the Lyft driver's vehicle. The pedestrian pulled on it, causing damage. The pedestrian continued walking down Scott Ave. and the driver proceeded to drop off the Lyft passenger. The driver then realized the power to the mirror was non-functional. The pedestrian was identified as a WUSM employee. Protective Services is investigating.

Incident No. 2301-00033 (Protective Services Incident), Report No. 23-004360

Synopsis:  Protective Services responded to a report of a subject who was breaking side mirrors off of parked vehicles in the Clayton Garage. The subject left the area prior to the officer's arrival but was located a short time later through CCTV footage walking on Duncan Ave.  Officers responded to the area and confronted the subject who fled on foot. A brief foot pursuit ensued and the subject was eventually taken into custody. The subject verbally identified himself as a juvenile. Officers transported the subject to the Mid Campus Center at which time they searched his backpack. The backpack contained eight side mirror covers from various vehicles. The SLMPD arrived and contacted the subject's parents who declined to pick him up. The SLMPD took the subject into custody. Protective Services responded back to the Clayton Garage and determined only one vehicle was damaged.
Disposition: Subject Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown.

Synopsis:  A vehicle drove through the gate arm at the 818 S. Euclid Ave. Surface Parking Lot. The driver then left the lot by contacting dispatch through the exit lane intercom without reporting the damage. The driver drove to another parking lot, parked her vehicle, and attended a patient appointment on campus.
