Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported her parked vehicle was struck by a passing vehicle. The passing vehicle did not stop and did not report the collision. Protective Services was able to determine the owner of the vehicle and obtain insurance information.

Synopsis: An unidentified woman used the intercom system in the Clayton Taylor Garage to speak with the communications center about her validation ticket not working to allow her to exit the garage. The dispatcher instructed her to get assistance from the garage attendant at a different exit. Instead, the woman drove through the gate arm, breaking it off the post and fled the area.
Disposition: Investigation Ongoing.

Location:  McDonnell Pediatrics Research Building
Synopsis: An employee reported a chunk of concrete had broken through his office window. The employee was in the office at the time but he was not injured. The investigation revealed the suspect to be a person who had been found trespassing in the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC) the night before. At 7:10 p.m.,  officers located the suspect in the FLTC yet again and took him into custody. He was then turned over to the SLMPD.
Disposition: Referred to the SLMPD, Suspect arrested.

Location:  818 South Euclid Surface Parking Lot
Synopsis: An officer found the traffic control gate arm broken from the post in the entrance lane to the surface parking lot. A review of the CCTV cameras of the area revealed a dark sedan drove through the gate at approximately 11:28 p.m., circled the lot and immediately exited back through the entrance and left campus. The matter was reported to Parking and Transportation.
Disposition: Investigation Ongoing.

Synopsis: Lab personnel advised an incubator that had not been used recently was damaged. The interior glass door was shattered. No other damage was reported to other incubators or lab equipment. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A Protective Services officer found the parking control gate arm broken from the post on the 818 Surface Parking Lot. A review of CCTV footage revealed a vehicle drove through the gate arm and immediately left campus thereafter. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: An employee noticed a broken glass panel in the Link in the area of EPNEC. It appeared a small projectile broke through the window from the outside. A check of CCTV cameras in the area did not show anything definitive. Protective Services is investigating.

Vandalism

Location:  Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC)
Synopsis: An employee reported soil had been dumped on the reception desk at the entrance to the FLTC. A check of the CCTV cameras showed a known trespasser had pried the sliding glass doors open and dumped a pizza box full of soil on the desk before immediately leaving the area.
Disposition: Suspect identified.

Location:  1234 S. Kingshighway Blvd.
Synopsis: A contract security officer reported the traffic control entry gate arm was malfunctioning. Officers arrived to the check the gate and found the arm on the ground, separated from the base. A review of the CCTV footage showed a shuttle bus attempted to enter the gate behind another shuttle, causing the arm to come down on the second bus and break.
Disposition: Reported to Parking and Transportation for information/action.
