Location: McDonnell Medical Sciences Building (MMSB) dock, Cortex One
Synopsis:  Two WUSM employees reported a window was broken from each of their vehicles while parked at the MMSB dock. A review of CCTV footage in the area showed an SUV parked near the dock at 5:13 am and a subject approached the employees' vehicles. Protective Services later learned several vehicles were broken into at the Cortex One surface lot and on Barnes Jewish property. Washington University Police Department reported several car break-ins near the Danforth campus. The SLMPD also reported several more break-ins in the Central West End. The same SUV was involved in all incidents. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: 4511 Forest Park Ave. Surface Parking Lot
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee parked her vehicle on the 4511 Forest Park Ave. surface lot at 6:00 pm. When she returned at 9:45 pm she found the rear driver's side window of her vehicle was broken out and paperwork was strewn about her vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing. A review of CCTV footage in the area showed an unknown vehicle entered the lot approximately ten minutes prior to the employee discovering the damage. The angle of the CCTV footage could not provide a vehicle or subject description. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A contract employee for Barnes-Jewish Hospital reported his vehicle window was shattered while parked in the physician parking on the Maternity Surface Lot. He reported a handgun and an iPad was missing. A review of CCTV showed a white four door vehicle in the area at the time of the theft. The vehicle had previously driven through the Euclid Meters and tampered with several vehicles parked there. The SLMPD was called and took a destruction of property report for the contract employee and another report for the damage at the Euclid Meters.

Synopsis:  A contract employee working for Clayco at the Neuroscience Research Building construction site heard his vehicle's car alarm sounding. He went to check and found the passenger side window was broken out. He also determined his doors were tampered with. The only item missing was two dollars from the center console tray. The employee reported the incident to the SLMPD. A review of CCTV footage in the area did not show anything definitive.

Synopsis:  An unaffiliated person parked his vehicle on McKinley Ave. at the metered parking spaces at approximately 7:00 pm on 8/15/2022. When he returned to his vehicle on 8/16/2022 at 2:00 am he found the passenger side window was shattered. The vehicle had been rummaged through however nothing was missing. A review of CCTV footage in the area showed a black four door sedan occupied by two unknown persons stopped at the vehicle and broke the window. A license plate on the sedan could not be determined. Investigation Ongoing.

The same SUV then drove through the Euclid Meters parking lot and tampered with several vehicles. Protective Services is investigating.

Larceny/Tampering with Motor Vehicle

Synopsis:  A WUSM visiting researcher parked his vehicle on McKinley Ave. while studying in the library. Upon returning to the vehicle, he found a window had been shattered and the steering column casing was removed. In addition, cash was stolen from the vehicle.  A review of CCTV footage in the area showed a silver Kia driving suspiciously in the area during the time the vehicle was parked on McKinley. A report was made to the SLMPD. Protective Services is assisting in the investigation.

Tampering with Motor Vehicle

Location: 4444 Forest Park Ave. Building Surface Lot
Synopsis:  Three contractors parked on the 4444 Forest Park Ave. Surface Lot reported witnessing their trucks being damaged by two unidentified subjects. A gray SUV drove onto the lot and parked between two trucks. Two individuals exited the SUV and broke the windows on three trucks parked nearby. Nothing was reportedly stolen. The subjects immediately re-entered the SUV and left campus. Protective Services is investigating.
