Synopsis: Protective Services officers responded to the BJCIH for a report of subject who attempted to steal a wallet and cash. A WashU employee observed a subject on the 10th floor, and thought he was a courier. She then realized he was holding her wallet and taking cash out of it. The employee followed the subject to the elevator where he returned her cash. Several security officers, including BJH Public Safety officers searched the building for the subject with negative results. As they were doing so, dispatchers reviewed CCTV footage and confirmed the subject had exited the building and fled from campus. He was later identified through a previous BJH Public Safety “Be on the Lookout” notice.  Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack
Synopsis: A visitor reported that he left his electric scooter parked at the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack on 9/14/2026 at around 5:00 pm. He locked the scooter to the rack with a cable lock. He returned for the scooter at 10:30pm and realized the scooter was gone. He used an app to track the location of the scooter to a gas station in Brentwood. The visitor went to the gas station to retrieve the scooter but could not locate it. He contacted local police on 9/14/2026 and reported the theft to Protective Services on 9/15/2026. A review of CCTV showed an unidentified subject cut the cable lock and stole the scooter at about 6:22pm on 9/14/2026. The unidentified subject had arrived to campus on an e-bike, which left at the bike rack when he stole the scooter. Protective Services officers secured and recovered the e-bike. Protective Services is investigating.

Upon arriving, officers located and detained a subject who had jumped on the roof of a parked vehicle. The roof and windshield sustained damage from the subject’s action. Protective Services arrested the subject and turned her over to the SLMPD.
