Stalking/Trespassing

Location: Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) 7th Floor
Synopsis:  Barnes Jewish Hospital Public Safety officers responded to the 7th floor of the CAM for a report of subject trespassing in the clinic. It was later determined the subject was a dismissed patient who had been harassing a WUSM physician. BJH Public Safety called Protective Services to investigate the subject. Protective Services officers provided the subject his patient dismissal letter and a written warning against future trespass. Protective Services is continuing to follow up with the physician and the clinic to ensure the safety of all involved.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported leaving her bag in a secured room in the North Building for approximately 15 minutes. When she returned, she believed her bag had been rifled through and an envelope of cash was missing. Protective Services is investigating.

Suspicious Activity/Trespassing

Location: Children’s Hospital Visitor Garage
Synopsis:  Protective Services officers responded to assist St. Louis Children’s Hospital Public Safety and BJH Public Safety for a report of possible gunfire on the top level of the Children’s Hospital Visitor Garage. The SLMPD also responded to the scene. One adult and two juvenile subjects were located in the garage. There was no evidence of gunfire and no injuries were reported. However, a pellet that typically is loaded into a BB gun was found lodge in a vehicle nearby. All subjects involved were identified. No arrests were made. All subjects were escorted from campus and warned against future trespass.

Synopsis:  While monitoring CCTV around campus, Protective Services dispatchers observed a suspicious person tampering with a bicycle at the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. The subject stole a bike and rode away just prior to officers arriving at the rack. Protective Services is investigating.

Burglary

Synopsis:  Protective Services dispatchers monitored the use of a stolen WUSM ID badge that was used in previous theft cases. They noted the ID badge was used to enter the North Building and dispatched officers to the area. Officers located a subject who had been using the ID badge to access various buildings around campus. The subject resisted arrest but was eventually detained by Protective Services officers. Officers successfully identified him and determined he was responsible for thefts documented under Incident Nos. 2401-0002626, 2401-00027, 2401-00028, and 2402-00051. The SLMPD responded to campus and took custody of the subject.

Synopsis:  A WUSM student reported her vehicle was broken into while parked at the Euclid Meters. Barnes Jewish Hospital Public Safety reported three additional vehicles were broken into as well. Protective Services is assisting BJH Public Safety and the SLMPD in the investigation.
