Carjacking

Synopsis:  Three unknown subjects occupying a Hyundai Sonata with no plates entered the drive lane of the CAM. One subject exited the vehicle and covertly made his way to the valet stand where keys are kept. The subject took a key and entered the corresponding vehicle. Three nearby employees observed the subject enter the vehicle and attempted to intervene. The subject drove away in the stolen vehicle at a high rate of speed, nearly striking the employees and other parked vehicles. The other subjects left the area in the vehicle in which they arrived. No injuries were reported. BJH Public Safety is assisting the SLMPD with the investigation.

Assault, Trespassing

Location: Clinical Sciences Research Building (CSRB)
Synopsis:  An unaffiliated subject attempted to “piggy-back” into the main lobby of the CSRB behind a Protective Services officer. The officer denied the subject entry and directed him to leave. The subject would not leave and behaved as though he was intoxicated. Additional officers responded to the CSRB. The subject was uncooperative and refused to leave, prompting Protective Services to call the SLMPD to the scene. The subject requested EMS, who were also called. While waiting for EMS, the subject became increasingly hostile and aggressive. The subject attempted to provoke both Protective Services and SLMPD officers into a physical confrontation and told the officers to shoot him. The subject charged at a SLMPD officer, striking the officer in the chest. Protective Services officer assisted the SLMPD in controlling the subject. A Protective Services officer was injured in the process. The SLMPD took custody of the subject and removed him from campus.

Suspicious Activity

Location: Forest Park Dialysis Center, 4205 Forest Park Ave.
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee located at the Forest Park Dialysis Center called Protective Services to report suspicious activity outside the clinic. An unknown subject who appeared to be living in his vehicle had thrown glass bottles of urine in the street and sidewalk outside the clinic. The employee reported that the same subject had been known to leave dirty undergarments on the parking lot the clinic and put toilet paper in nearby trees. When Protective Services officers arrived, the subject was gone. The vehicle was parked on the street. Protective Services contacted the SLMPD and referred the report to them.

Burglary

Location: 4480 Clayton Ave. Building (4480) Rear Shed
Synopsis:  A Protective Services officer noted the pedestrian door of the 4480 rear shed was damaged and open. The officer could not immediately determine if anything was taken. A review of CCTV footage in the area showed an unidentified subject in the area of the shed approximately an hour and a half prior to the officer finding the damage. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  Several unknown subjects entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the CAM drive lane. When they noticed a Public Safety officer nearby, one subject showed a firearm, but did not point it at the officer. Reported to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Trespassing

Location: Ambulatory Cancer Center (ACC) Construction Site, 4500 Forest Park Ave.
Synopsis:  Protective Services officers responded to a report of trespasses at the ACC construction site. Officers located and identified two subjects who claimed they were part of a SnapChat group who explore urban construction sites. The SLMPD responded to campus and ultimately decided to release both subjects. The SLMPD escorted them from campus.

Fight

Synopsis:  Protective Services officers observed two people fighting in the Metro Bus Depot. The officers intervened and broke up the fight. Both subjects involved in the fight fled the area via the MetroLink before they could be identified. One subject dropped a firearm while fleeing. The officers recovered the firearm and turned it over to the SLMPD.
