Synopsis: An employee reported his backpack missing from the first floor of the BJCIH. He left his backpack containing approximately $2000 worth of equipment in the fire control room. The door was propped open. When he returned about 20 minutes later, the backpack was gone. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject piggy-backed into the building and took the backpack. He then rode the elevator to the fourth floor. Protective Services officer were unable to locate the subject. However, they found the backpack in the bathroom of the 4th floor. The employee reported nothing was missing from within. About an hour later, Protective Services received a delayed report of a subject trespassing in a lab on the 9th floor of the BJCIH. The description of the subject matched the description of the person who stole the backpack. The employee did not report the incident for several hours. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A Barnes-Jewish Hospital employee notified Protective Services officers their bicycle was missing from the bike rack when they returned for it following their shift. The BJH employee had secured the bicycle using a cable lock. A review of CCTV footage revealed a subject exited the MetroLink and looked at the bike before walking away. The subject returned a short time later and tampered with the bike. The subject ultimately defeated the cable lock, removed the bike from the rack, and rode it southbound away from campus. Protective Services is investigating.
