Location: Metro Parking Garage
Synopsis:  Officers responded to the Metro Parking Garage for a report of a suspicious person. They located the subject a shortly after walking on Euclid Ave. Dispatchers noted the subject had been pulling on locked campus doors. Officers confronted the subject who became aggressive and combative.  The subject attempted to enter BJH property through the West Pavilion, but was prevented from doing so by the officers. While detained, the subject made aggressive motions toward both Protective Services and BJH Public Safety officers. The subject refused to properly identify himself to the officers. The SLMPD was called, however after several hours, had not responded to campus. Protective Services and BJH Public Safety officers had made the decision to release the subject. While in the process of doing so, the subject attempted to aggressively approach a passing employee. Based on his continued aggressive behavior, the officers kept him in custody and made an additional request for the SLMPD to respond. The SLMPD eventually responded to campus and assisted in effectively identifying the subject.  The SLMPD then took custody of the subject.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Judicial Disposition Unknown.

Synopsis:  A vehicle drove through the gate arm at the 818 S. Euclid Ave. Surface Parking Lot. The driver then left the lot by contacting dispatch through the exit lane intercom without reporting the damage. The driver drove to another parking lot, parked her vehicle, and attended a patient appointment on campus.

Synopsis:  A visiting researcher reported storing her bicycle in the CSRB Bike Corral on 2/23/2023. She did not secure her bicycle to a bike rack within the corral. Upon returning for the bike on 3/2/2023, it was gone.  Protective Services is investigating.

Vehicle Tampering

Synopsis:  BJH Public Safety investigators were viewing CCTV footage in real time and observed a silver Dodge truck that had been involved in previous vehicle tampering events on campus. The investigators conducted a search of campus and observed the truck backed in next to another vehicle on the parking lot. The investigators entered the lot to confront the truck occupants, however the truck exited the lot at a high rate of speed, nearly colliding with another vehicle. Officers determined the occupants of the truck had broken into a Chevrolet Silverado that was parked on the lot. The rear driver’s window was broken and the glove box had been opened. SLMPD arrived to investigate the seen. Protective Services is investigating along with BJH Public Safety and the SLMPD.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported a suspicious person sleeping on the 1st floor of the FLTC near Kaldi’s. Officers confronted the subject who became verbally hostile. The subject was wearing a GPS monitoring device on his ankle. Officers determined the subject was on bond for a dangerous felony offense. Officers contacted the SLMPD who responded to campus and took custody of the subject.
