Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported the theft of a piece of lab equipment that possibly occurred the night before. A different employee was placed on administrative leave the day before and was told not to return to campus. At that time, the employees personal property was still in the lab. The next morning, the employee’s property was gone. Lab personnel assumed the employee had returned to campus against instruction. The lab equipment went missing at the same time. UPDATE: The lab equipment was found in a different area of the lab. No larceny occurred.

Synopsis: Protective Services officers observed a vehicle parked on Scott Ave. had the car alarm activated. Upon further investigation, officers determined the window was broken out of the vehicle. Three additional vehicles on Scott Ave. had broken windows, as well. A review of CCTV footage showed a small Hyundai or Kia sedan occupied by three unidentified subjects broke into the vehicles within an approximate 10 minute window. The same vehicle then attempted to break into several vehicles parked in the Physician Emergency parking lot near the Maternity Hospital Building. The SLMPD responded and took a report.

Location: Mid Campus Center (MCC) Bike Rack
Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported the theft of her bicycle that was parked at the MCC Bike Rack. The bike rack was full when the employee arrived with the bike so she could not secure it to the rack. Instead, she she placed a cable lock through the front wheel and left the bike near the rack. A known subject later stole the bicycle and left the area. Shortly after the employee reported the bicycle stolen, the subject returned the bike to the bike rack and attempted to leave campus. Protective Services officers found the subject and positively identified him prior to him leaving campus. A relevant BOLO had been issued. The employee was notified of the return of her bike.

Synopsis: Protective Services officer observed a gate arm was detached from the post at the north exit of the Clayton Garage. Synopsis: Protective Services officer observed a UTV being driven by an unknown person out of the NRB dock. The UTV took off at a high rate of speed and ignored all traffic signals and signs as it left campus. The SLMPD took a report. The UTV was later recovered in St. Louis City and a juvenile subject was taken into custody.

Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported that the front bicycle wheel and tire were stolen from his bicycle that was secured at the Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject arrived on campus with a bicycle. He looked at several bike racks. He eventually swapped his front wheel and tire for the wheel and tire of the employee’s bicycle. He left behind a dented wheel and tire. Protective Services is investigating.
