Facilities Operations Update

Multi-carrier Distributed Antenna System update

Sent on behalf of Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

A Multi-carrier Distributed Antenna System (MDAS) will be installed over the next 18-24 months to provide cellular service for ATT, Sprint-T-Mobile, and Verizon connections throughout the Medical Center Campus. The construction will be completed in phases targeting specific building groups. See the map for more information.

What’s happening in your building?

Construction in the following five buildings will run from Monday, Apr.
12th to Monday, May 31st:

  1. North Medical Bldg (NB) Bldg. 1,
  2. Becker Library (ML) Bldg. 13,
  3. Cancer Research Bldg (CR) Bldg. 2,
  4. McDonnell Science (MC/MS) Bldg. 12,
  5. South Medical Bldg (SB) Bldg. 3.
This involves pulling cables, installing antennas, and testing equipment. Who’s impacted?
Staff, patients and families within the designated areas should
experience limited disruptions to egress/ingress. Vendors will be
accessing above ceiling areas with or without a lift and will work to
ensure that they are not blocking access in hallways, patient rooms,
    offices, etc.
