McDonnell Pediatric Research Building-Air Handling Unit 3/6/2022-4/17/2022

Maintenance on the large supply air handling units (AHU-1 and AHU-2) that serve all of the labs in MPRB will be completed. Contractors will be installing new filter racks in both units and performing cleaning/sealing in both units. The work will take three weeks per unit (six weeks total). The outage will begin each evening at 9:00 PM and finish the following morning at 6:00 AM. The contractor has been directed that any sealing activities that will result in odors in the building will be done on Saturday night (preferred) and Friday night (if a second night is necessary). The work will be completed per the following schedule:

• Week of March 6th: Perform work on AHU-2 which serves the labs on the eastern side of the building. (Work may be conducted in the BSL3 labs during this outage.)
• Week of March 13th: Perform work on AHU-2 which serves the labs on the eastern side of the building. (Work may be conducted in the BSL3 labs during this outage.)
• Week of March 20th: Perform work on AHU-2 which serves the labs on the eastern side of the building. (Work may be conducted in the BSL3 labs during this outage.)

• Week of March 27th: Perform work on AHU-1 which serves the labs on the western side of the building including all of the BSL3 labs. (No work may occur in the BSL3 labs during this outage.)
• Week of April 3rd: Perform work on AHU-1 which serves the labs on the western side of the building including all of the BSL3 labs. (No work may occur in the BSL3 labs during this outage.)
• Week of April 10th: Perform work on AHU-1 which serves the labs on the western side of the building including all of the BSL3 labs. (No work may occur in the BSL3 labs during this outage.)

During the work periods listed above, occupants in the bulding should expect the following:
• There will be reduced exhaust airflow to all of the non-BSL3 laboratories in the building. No work should occur in the fume hoods during the work periods listed above.
• The supply air to the labs identified above will be off. Supply air and space temperature for these areas will be affected during the times identified above.
• The exhaust airflow to all of the BSL3 lab suites will remain operational during the outages.
