This will be the first of two outages required to perform this work. The second outage will be on October 30th. The purpose of this outage is to perform maintenance and testing on the 5KV distribution switchgear, on the MCD-Dock. This requires completely de-energizing the whole line-up, so that we can safely and effectively perform the required work. This work will ensure that the main electrical systems will continue to provide safe and reliable power. This outage will affect all lighting, receptacles and equipment connected to normal power in the following Buildings:
• FLTC
• Becker Library
• Olin Hall
• North Building
• Cancer Research
• South Building
• McDonnell Science
All of the normal power will be turned off in the above listed buildings. Generators will run to provide power to the lighting and equipment connected to the emergency power system.
