Reminder – composting pilot at Farmstead and Shell Cafes from February 1 – April 30, 2023

WUSM is piloting a post-consumer compost program at Farmstead and Shell Cafes from February 1 – April 30, 2023!

Composting diverts waste from landfills, cuts greenhouse gas emissions, strengthens soil, promotes healthy plant growth, AND reduces the need for pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. The list goes on and on!

But to make this program successful, we need your help! We are looking for volunteers to help sort waste at Farmstead and Shell Cafes during lunchtime to reduce contamination during the pilot period. While helpful signage will be widely posted, humans are much more likely to learn how to properly sort waste from other humans!

If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up here or reach out to WUSM Sustainability Coordinator, Heather Craig, at hcraig@wustl.edu. No experience is necessary – we will teach you everything you need to know!
