Outages

Specialized Research Facility East, 4533 Clayton Ave-Electric Service Interruption 11/3/2023 7 pm-11 pm

The purpose of this outage is to perform maintenance and testing on the main electrical switchgear that distributes power to SRF-East. This is the 1st of two outages to do this work. Facilities electricians will perform switching to single-line the main switchgear to the ‘W’ feed only. This will allow them to isolate and de-energize the ‘D’ feed so the equipment can be safely worked on. When all work is complete the ‘D’ Feed power will be restored and the main switchgear will be returned to normal operation. This work will ensure that the main electrical systems will continue to provide safe and reliable power.

The SRF-East main electrical switchgear will be single lined to the ‘W’ feed only, and there should not be any power disruptions. The CID Dorm is also fed from the ‘D’ bus of SRF-East the main electrical switchgear, but because the main switchgear is being single-lined to ‘W’ it shouldn’t see any power disruptions either.
