The Plaza Gift and Flower Shop in the main lobby will open Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 7 a.m. following extensive renovations that started in February 2023.

Stephanie Neal, Barnes-Jewish retail shops manager, says while the Plaza Shop has been thriving in its temporary space, she’s excited and can’t wait to see the finished space.

“I also love the modern look of the new gift shop,” Neal adds. “I’m most excited about our flower shop being at the store entrance. Some customers did not realize we had a full-service floral department because the flower shop was tucked away toward the back of the store.”
The temporary location, which Neal’s team affectionately calls the “bite-size” gift shop, will shutter its doors at the close of business Sunday, January 7. The team will move inventory and set up the new shop over the following two days and open for business at 7 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10.

“The reopening of the gift shop is an exciting milestone in the Plaza Entry component of the Campus Renewal Project,” says Steph Kroener, BJC senior activation manager. “I’ve seen the progress along the way, and I really think team members, patients and visitors will love the new shop.”

Plaza Entry is being completed in stages to minimize disruption to patients, visitors and team members.

Additionally, the main level corridor to the West Pavilion elevators reopened in late December, with bright terrazzo flooring and finishes that will eventually be used throughout the main and street-level lobbies.
