CSRB North Tower Addition-Electric Service Interruption 3/10/2024 – 7-11 am

The purpose of this outage is to perform maintenance and testing on the ‘D’ feed portion of the NTA main electrical switchgear. Facilities electricians will perform switching, to isolate and de-energize the ‘D’ feed. Facilities electricians and Service Contractors will inspect and test the breakers, relays, and major components of the de-energized portion of the switchgear. Once all inspections and testing are complete, facilities electricians will restore power to normal operation.

Building/Areas affected:
This outage will only affect CSRB-NTA. The Chillers that are on the ‘D’ Feed will lose power but are backed by generator power. Therefore, the 4160V Generator will start and run for the duration of the outage. The outage will also affect all normal lighting and receptacle power on the 5th (Lighting), 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and Penthouse floors. Autoclaves on the 3rd and 4th floors will also lose power during this outage. NTAEMG1 will run for the duration of this outage and provide power to lights and equipment connected to the emergency power system. As a precautionary measure, the 4th floor biohazard area will be closed during this outage.
