Week of 9/2/24:
This week at the Eric P. Newman Center, we will install wall panels at the Link Walkway and temporary partitions in the lobby area around the existing escalator. Our crew will also install temporary protection at the Level 1 storefront and along the glass handrail at the Level 2 mezzanine. Tarlton is also working to set up a construction laydown area within the adjacent Hope Plaza site fence.
Week of 9/9/24
Next week, we will begin selective demolition of the soffit underneath the escalator and removal of drywall in select locations for structural verification of existing steel members. The sprinkler contractor and electrical contractor will disconnect existing utilities serving the area underneath the escalator to prepare for its removal. The demolition crew will also begin the removal of the existing terrazzo flooring within the temporary partitions. All demolition work during this week will be completed overnight.
