Just to let you know, the Facilities department will be shutting down all chilled water supply to the facility to help contractors replace a chilled water control valve. Between October 24, 6:00 p.m., and October 27, 6:00 a.m., chilled water will be unavailable for the building’s cooling systems, microscopes, and any other equipment that requires chilled water. Please refrain from operating any microscopes or other equipment that rely on chilled water during this time. All cold rooms will switch to city water backup and will remain operational. Facilities will closely monitor the situation until the chilled water supply is restored and all systems have been verified to function correctly. Additionally, the basement freezer farm, animal rooms, and 5th-floor data rooms will have alternate cooling methods in place and will remain conditioned and monitored throughout the outage.
