Team members who walk the link have found their way around the south lobby corridor closure by following the bright yellow and green Link Detour signs. Wayfinding still poses a challenge to patients and visitors, team members are encouraged, as always, to help them find their way.
Recent wayfinding improvements include the following:
To south campus:
- Cafeteria, Admitting, and Information/Lobby signs were installed in the permanent signage along the detour.
- A directional cafeteria poster was placed in the lobby near the column by the Central elevators.
- Directional cafeteria posters were installed on the corridor wall through the old cafeteria.
Heading to north campus:
- Red emergency signs were installed in the permanent signage along the detour.
- Red emergency signs were added to the yellow Link Detour signs.
- Cardiothoracic Procedure Center signs were installed in the permanent signs along the detour.
As a reminder, there are two detour routes. The bright Link Detour signs with arrows are posted along the following routes:
- Main level – this is the easiest and most direct route for patients and visitors – see map.
- Second floor – this route starts at the Central elevators on the 2nd floor. Team members and physicians may prefer it, but it’s not recommended to send patients and visitors on this route.
About this Work
The Plaza Entry portion of the Campus Renewal Project is being phased over several years. Earlier phases included the Plaza Gift and Flower Shop, the new pedestrian bridge, and the garage lobbies, as well as the Plaza Coffee Bar. Three new elevators serving the street and main levels are scheduled to open in March. Additional phases will remove the escalators, replace them with a wide stairway, and renovate the flooring and walls around the Central Elevators.
