Beginning Monday, October 5, through Friday, December 11, Taylor Roofing will close the east end of McKinley Avenue as part of Project #251006 – McDonnell Sciences Roof Replacement.
Once Taylor Roofing completes the south side of the McDonnell Medical Sciences Building (MMSB) roof, it will mobilize to Scott Ave to complete the north side. The Scott Ave closure is anticipated to begin Monday, December 14, and continue through Monday, January 25.
Please see below for key information regarding both closures. The attached document provides details on the designated construction zones and alternate pedestrian routes.
McKinley Avenue – 10/5/26 through 12/11/26
- The section of McKinley Ave. from Taylor Ave. to Euclid Ave. will be closed.
- Deliveries to the SIRF East Dock and 4570 Supply Room Garage will remain open and operate as normal.
- The south exit to the South Building will be closed, and traffic will be redirected to an alternate exit.
- Signage will be posted at the Taylor Ave./McKinley Ave. intersection identifying the closure and construction zone.
Scott Avenue – 12/14/26 through 1/25/27
- All MMSB dock bays and the Euclid Power Plant (EPP) parking lot will remain open and operate as normal. However, expect delays when passing through the crane zone.
- The Olin Residence Hall sidewalk to the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC) will be closed. The Biotech sidewalk will remain open for access to FLTC and the EPP parking lot.
- The designated construction parking zone on Scott Ave. will be closed for the duration of the closure. Shredd-It will need to use an alternate parking location during this time.
- Signage will be posted at the Taylor Ave./Scott Ave. intersection identifying the closure and construction zone.
All closure schedules are weather permitting. We will provide updates if the anticipated schedule changes.
