For about three weeks, the bridge connecting Rand Johnson’s seventh floor to Southwest Tower’s fifth floor will be closed while four MRIs are removed from the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology building. Cranes will hoist equipment and MRIs over the bridge, so the closure is a necessary safety precaution.
- Those who use the bridge can detour through Plaza West Tower to the fifth- and sixth-floor bridges that connect to Southwest Tower.
- Emergency egress from the adjacent buildings will be maintained.
- The emergency department (ED) ambulance exit will not be blocked for extended periods; however, flaggers will occasionally pause ambulance exits to direct truck traffic in and out of the alley.
