7/20-8/7: Hope Plaza Restoration – MCC Front Entrance Disruption

Starting Monday, July 20, 2026, and continuing through August 7, 2026, pending weather, the Phase 5B portion of the plaza, at the MCC front entrance, will be under construction. Work will be being performed in and around the MCC Front Entrance and Metro Link platform. Please see the attached phasing drawing.

Please note and make arrangements to navigate entry into MCC from either the north side steps or the link, as the main front entrance and ADA ramp will be closed due to construction.

Once Phase 5B is completed on August 7th, we will move to Phase 5C at the Metrolink platform entrance, and Phase 6B, continuing work at the main entrance of the Eric P Neumann Center (EPNEC).

Please expect continued noise, disruption and congestion at the MCC circle through August 30, 2026, in support of the Hope Plaza Restoration.

(Please Note – Primarily due to the weather, and unforeseen changes in the field, phases and dates are approximate. This indicates that the construction team anticipates possibly needing to move areas of work and dates of phases, both sooner and later to adjust to progress on the project.)

If your work on campus takes you in or around the BJC IOH building and Hope Plaza, please anticipate shutdowns, disruptions and inconveniences associated with the construction of this project.

Your patience and cooperation while we work to restore the plaza is sincerely appreciated.
