Sent on behalf of Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Contractors will begin building walls to cordon off the vacated street-level lobby of St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) on Thursday, July 23, in preparation for construction of a new canopy at the emergency department (ED) drop-off area. The canopy construction is the first of several phases to improve the Emergency Department entrance, triage and lobby.
- Starting Tuesday, July 21, a film will be applied to the lobby windows to block the view of the construction materials, which will be staged and stored in the lobby for the project.
- Access to the emergency department on the street level will be maintained, as well as egress as shown in green on the graphic.
- Details of the canopy construction will be shared by mid-August, with construction scheduled to begin in late August and continue through January.
- The main entry phases of the project will begin in September and continue through February. More information will be shared as the time approaches.
