Barnes-Jewish Plaza is scheduled to close for two weekends for road milling and repaving. The entire stretch of the road from Kingshighway Boulevard to Euclid Avenue will close during this work.
- Friday, October 2, starting at 6 p.m., through Sunday, October 4, at 6 p.m. This weekend will entail milling (scraping) the top layer of the road in preparation for paving. The surface will be rough when it reopens, and it will remain rough until paving is completed the following weekend.
- Friday, October 9, starting at 6 p.m., through Sunday, October 11 at 6 p.m. This weekend will include repaving the entire stretch and restriping the lines.
Impacts include the following:
- The patient and visitor entrance/exit to Plaza Garage from Barnes-Jewish Plaza will be closed both weekends.
- Detour signage will direct drivers entering and exiting the campus. See map for detour.
- Patients and visitors will be directed to the team member entrance to Plaza Garage on Clayton Ave.
- Team members and physicians are advised to take the Boyle exit to Clayton Ave. to reduce traffic for patients and visitors.
- The closure does not affect the physician entrance/exit on Euclid.
- Team members are asked to tell patients and visitors to plan ahead and watch for detour signs.
Much of the work over the past several years has resulted in an uneven surface, with as much as a couple of inches of difference in some areas. Previous work included replacing city water lines and other infrastructure under the road, rebuilding the garage entrance, and relocating and expanding the main entrance and drop-off areas.
