Clayton Avenue Building Demolition Underway

Sent on behalf of Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

In May, the Clayton Avenue Building (CAB) at 4353 Clayton Ave. closed for good. The building was largely used for storage and as a shipping and receiving location for the past couple of years, with few occupants.

Demolition began in late September on the north side of the building near the Metro tracks and will move south toward Clayton Avenue. Demolition should wrap up by the end of the year, weather permitting. Some impacts of the demolition:

  • The shuttle stop that was previously at the CAB entrance was relocated in September to the location shown west of the closed entrance.
  • Truck traffic for the demolition will enter and exit the site on Boyle Avenue and Newstead Avenue.
  • The driveway along the west side of CAB leading to team member parking will close in late October, and a new entrance/exit to employee parking will move a little farther west. See green arrows on map.
