The purpose of this outage is to perform maintenance and testing on the main electrical switchgear that distributes power throughout the MCC Building. This first outage will be on the ‘D’ feed on both US-HNBW & US-HNBE. Facilities electricians will perform switching and de-energize the necessary switchgear so they can safely and effectively perform the required work. This work will ensure that the main electrical systems will continue to provide safe and reliable power.
This outage will mainly affect the lighting, receptacles and equipment connect to the emergency power system. The generator will run and provide power for the duration of the outage, but there will be a blip of a few seconds, when the normal power is turned off, and the generator picks up the load. Once all work is complete, normal power will be restored and facilities will make sure all systems are returned to normal operation.
