On Thursday, October 24, 5 pm – Friday, October 25, 1:30 am, contractors will turn off the air handling unit for the first floor to install additional equipment. Temperatures throughout the first floor will not be precisely controlled and may vary from comfort levels.

There will be a steam outage from Friday, October 25th, 5 pm to Saturday, October 26th, 7 pm. This outage is needed to repair the main steam system coming into the building. On Wednesday, October 23rd, from 6-7 am, Facilities Plumbers will troubleshoot and repair to the faucet inside BSL3 lab 452/462. During this time NO work will take place in BSL3 lab 452/462.

On October 31st from 8 pm to 12 am we will be turning off Air Handlers 1 and 2 at different times in the Specialized Research Facility East to perform filter changes. During this time, there will be limited to no heating and cooling or airflow to the building.

On Tuesday, November 5th, 9-11 am, the facilities Fire/Alarm team will be conducting an inspection of the upgraded F/A system on the 8th floor. The affected areas will be the 7th, 8th, and PH floors. Audibles and strobes will be witnessed in the building. “THIS IS ONLY A TEST.” There is no need for evacuation.

On Friday, October 25th 3-6 am, contractors will turn off air handlers serving floors 7 through 11. Floors 7 through 11 will experience loss of airflow and exhaust for fume hoods No fume hoods should be used during this outage.

On Tuesday, October 22nd 4-6 am, Facilities Technicians will be conducting an inspection of the air handling systems serving the 4th and 5th floors. During this time NO work shall take place in any BSL3 lab on the 4th floor.

On Friday, November 1, from 4-7 am, facilities will test the Generator and ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch). There will be a quick blip during the transfer to emergency power. Some lighting and receptacles are red and some mechanical equipment supplied with emergency power will be affected during the transfer.
