Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of several pieces of electronic equipment from a lab on the fifth floor of the CSRB over the weekend. CCTV footage of a separate incident revealed a subject believed to be responsible for the theft. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle from the Euclid Power Plant rack. A review of CCTV footage revealed an unknown subject used bolt cutters to cut through the cable lock before stealing the bicycle and immediately leaving campus. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Maternity Surface Lot Bike Rack
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle, secured by a cable lock, from the Maternity Surface Lot bike rack. A review of CCTV footage revealed an unknown subject left Barnes-Jewish Hospital, took the bike from the rack and immediately left campus. Protective Services is investigating. UPDATE: On 10/20/2021, at approximately 8:19 pm, a Protective Services officer located the subject who stole the bike, in the same area where the bike was stolen. The officer detained the subject and called the SLMPD to take custody.
Disposition: Suspect arrested. Judicial disposition unknown.

Location: East McDonnell Specialized Research Facility Bike Rack
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle from the East McDonnell bike corral. The employee had parked his bike in the corral, secured with a thick cable lock at approximately 8:45 am.  A review of the CCTV footage in the area revealed that at 12:52 pm, a different employee entered the corral to retrieve a bike and left the door to the corral open. At 2:16 pm, an unknown subject entered the corral, cut the cable lock and stole the bicycle. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of her bicycle from the Euclid Power Plant bike rack. The employee had parked her bike at the rack approximately one month prior, secured with a cable lock.  A review of the CCTV footage in the area revealed that on 10/31/2021, at approximately 12:08 pm, two unaffiliated subjects stole the bicycle by cutting the cable lock. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Wohl Hospital, 3rd Floor
Synopsis: A contractor working on the third floor of the Wohl Hospital reported the theft of several feet of copper pipe and two spools of wire. The items were in a locked room at the close of business Friday 11/12/2021 and were missing upon returning to work Monday morning. There was damage to the ceiling tile frames where the copper pipe had been. A review of the CCTV footage in the area showed nothing suspicious. The estimated loss was approximately $2,000. The theft was reported to the SLMPD.
Disposition:  Referred to the SLMPD

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle from the Euclid Power Plant bike rack. The employee had parked the bike at the rack and secured it with a cable lock.  A review of the CCTV footage in the area revealed an unknown subject used bolt cutters to cut the lock and stole the bike. The subject may be one of the subjects involved in a bike theft from 10/31/2021.  Protective Services is investigating.

Location: 4444 Forest Park Ave. Bike Rack
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle from the bike rack on the south side of 4444 Forest Park Ave. The employee had parked the bike at the rack on 11/18/21 and secured it with a cable lock. Upon returning to retrieve the bike on 11/23/2021, it was missing. A review of the CCTV footage in the area revealed an unknown subject stole the bike on 11/21/2021 and road eastbound on Duncan Ave., ultimately leaving campus. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of her bicycle from the freight elevator lobby inside FLTC. The employee left her bike unsecured in the lobby at approximately 7:30 am. Upon returning to retrieve the bike at noon, it was missing. A review of the CCTV footage in the area revealed an unknown subject left FLTC with the bicycle at approximately 11:20 am. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: 4511 Forest Park Medical Building parking lot
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported a suspicious person who appeared to be removing vehicle license plate renewal stickers in the parking lot of the 4511 Forest Park Medical Building. The suspect left the area on foot when the employee walked through the parking lot. A check of the parking lot revealed renewal stickers had been removed from five vehicles. Protective Services is investigating.
