Location:  4510 McKinley Ave. Surface Parking Lot
Synopsis:   An employee made a delayed report of a theft from his vehicle the week prior. The employee parked his vehicle on the 4510 McKinley Ave. surface parking lot at about 6:00pm on 10/11/2024. When he returned at about 11:00pm, the employee noticed the passenger side window was broken and approximately $20 in change was stolen from the center console. A review of CCTV showed a red pickup truck entered the lot around 7:15pm. The driver of the truck approached the employee's vehicle before re-entering the truck and driving away. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Mid Campus Center
Synopsis: A visitor to campus reported their unattended backpack had been removed from the Kaldi's Coffee seating area on the second floor of Mid Campus Center.  A review of CCTV showed a male subject removed the backpack and continued through campus.  The victim later located the subject with the backpack using his laptop's location feature. The subject returned the backpack to its owner and departed the area.  The victim's wallet and keys were missing from the backpack when it was returned.  Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) 5th Floor
Synopsis: An employee reported the theft of a digital toaster from the 5th floor of the CAM. The toaster was the personal property of the employee. It went missing around 10/21/2024.  Protective Services is investigating.
Disposition: UPDATE: The toaster was located. Investigation Complete.

Location: Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) Bike Rack
Synopsis: A student reported his bike missing from the CID bike rack. He last remembered seeing the bike over a week prior to reporting it missing. The student had his bike lock and admitted that he likely forgot to secure the bicycle to the rack. CCTV footage showed the bike was stolen by an unidentified subject on 10/12/2024. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A WUSM employee made a delayed theft report. The employee parked her vehicle in the Duncan Central Garage on 9/7/2024 at around 8:00am. When she arrived home after work at about 5:15pm, she noticed the rear license plate tab was missing. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Renard Hospital Building, 3rd Floor
Synopsis: A WUSM faculty member reported his credit card was missing. He last used the card on 10/31/2024, so he was unsure if it went missing on campus or elsewhere. A review of service calls in the area showed Protective Services officers responded to a report of an unsecured door the week prior. Employees on the 3rd floor of Renard reported two unaffiliated subjects gained access to their floor on 10/31/2024. They entered through an unsecured stairwell door. The employees guided the subjects to the elevators. They left prior to Protective Services officers arriving. It is likely the subjects reported by employees were involved in the theft of the credit card. A BOLO was disseminated to campus security in an attempt to identify them. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A WUSM employee made a delayed report of the theft of her license plate expiration tabs. She parked in the Duncan Central Garage on 11/8/2024 at about 9:00am. When she returned around 3:15pm, she noticed the tags were missing. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: BJC Institute of Health (BJCIH) 5th Floor
Synopsis: A WUSM employee reported the theft of her purse which contained credit cards, checks, and other miscellaneous items. She stepped away from her desk on the 5th floor of the BJCIH for about an hour. When she returned, the purse had been removed from her backpack stored under her desk. Later, another WUSM employee reported the theft of her blue light glasses from her desk on the 5th floor. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject accessed the BJCIH by piggy-backing in behind another employee. He spent time on the 5th and 7th floors and appeared to steal other items than those reported. A BOLO was created and disseminated amongst campus security.   Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: Protective Services officers responded to a report of a theft from the Clayton Garage. A WUSM employee parked her vehicle at about 8:30am and when she returned at 4:15pm, she noticed the temporary license plate was missing. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis: A WUSM physician made a delayed report of the theft of a bag of medical supplies valued at approximately $200. The physician last saw the bag on 11/22/2024 on the 11th Floor of the Parkview Tower. Protective Services is investigating.
